How to get a Police Clearance Certificate online

Oman citizens and residents can obtain the Police Clearance Certificate via online through ROP website or the ROP mobile app.

A police clearance or certificate is an official document issued as a result of a background check by the police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings. A police clearance is also known as good citizen certificate (in Hong Kong), good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, national police history check (in Australia) or judicial record extracts.

This certificate is issued to the Omani citizen and resident foreign nationals presently or previously residing in the Sultanate for the following purposes:

  • Practicing commercial business outside the Sultanate
  • Obtaining entry visas for certain countries
  • Immigration to other countries
  • Working as tourists guide
  • Joining the University
  • Other similar purposes

Service Description

A service provided by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, where the document of a clearance certificate can be requested electronically through the Royal Oman Police mobile application for the citizen and foreign resident inside the Sultanate of Oman, and through ROP website for the foreigner outside the Sultanate, and the applicant can also view the certificates requests and resend them.

Requirements:

Citizen or foreigner inside the Sultanate:

  • Activate Mobile PKI SIM card for the applicant in case of login by PKI in ROP mobile application.
  • Active mobile number to recevice the OTP for mobile appliction login in case the citizen is outside the Sultanate

For foreigner outside the Sultanate of Oman:

  • The applicant must be outside the Sultanate.
  • Provide the last passport which used to enter Oman and the civil number that was issued to by civil status during the period of residence in Oman.

Procedures

Citizen or foreigner inside the Sultanate:

Request new certificate on (ROP Mobile application) :

  • Login to ROP mobile application by PKI or OTP
  • Choose document services, then choose certificates, then click on request a new document
  • Fill in the application data fields and submit the application.
  • The request details, service fees and the option to start the payment process are displayed
  • After the successful payment , the electronic copy will be sent to the applicant’s email automatically (according to the email entered in the application form).

Certificate resend on (ROP Mobile application) :

  • Login to ROP mobile application by PKI or OTP
  • Choose document services, then choose certificates, click on the certificate to resend it .
  • The beneficiary confirm or edit the e-mail and then press the resend button, the applicant’s e-mail automatically (according to the entered e-mail)

For foreigner outside the Sultanate of Oman:

  • Enter the service link form the bottom of that page
  • Fill out the online application form with the required data
  • The request details, service fees and the option to start the payment process are displayed
  • After the successful payment , the electronic copy will be sent to the applicant’s email automatically (according to the email entered in the application form).

For Omani Nationals

  • RO 3.000

For Resident Expatriate

  • RO 20.000
