Leaving your home country especially your family has been the most challenging decision every overseas worker has to make despite the intention of making their lives better. Majority of the contracts being offered abroad allows you to take your vacation every after 1 or 2 years. We all know how difficult it is to wait for that day when are you going to see and be with your family personally. That’s why, most of the expats here in the Sultanate are blessed to have this benefit and that is to bring their family with them when they qualify with the following requirements:
The family Joining Visa is granted to the wife of the foreigner, who is resident in Oman, and as well to his children who are below (21) years. It is also granted to the foreign wife of an Omani national at his request, and subject to a certificate from the concerned authority (Ministry of Interior) confirming the status of the marriage.
In September 2013, Royal Oman Police (ROP) made it mandatory that an expatriate wishing to bring in his family to the Sultanate should have a salary of not be less than OMR600 per month.
The family Visa is granted by the concerned authority at its discretion, and at the request of a local sponsor and on his responsibility, to the relatives of the Omani national and the relatives of the foreigner who are not included in the categories eligible for Family Joining Visa. The Visa shall be as follows:
