Third dose of COVID-19 vaccine for aged 18 and above

The Supreme Committee on Sunday, December 10, 2021, issues new decisions including allowing those aged 18 and above to be vaccinated with third dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

As reported by Oman News Agency, the Supreme Committee decided the following:

  1. Starting vaccination with the third dose and booster dose with the anti-coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine for those aged 18 years and over, and the Ministry of Health will announce the target groups and the approved plan for that.
  2. In light of the Supreme Committee’s previous adoption of the principle of vaccination as a condition to allow entry to all government units and private sector establishments, the Supreme Committee has adopted the unified mechanism for dealing with unvaccinated employees and students against the Coronavirus (Covid 19) upon entering the units of the state’s administrative apparatus and other public legal persons. The competent authorities will circulate this to all units.

The Committee emphasized that entry to mosques, events, activities, international conferences, other events at wedding halls and other venues as well as local events and activities of a nature involving crowds, sports activities and exhibitions, would be held with a 50 percent capacity of the respective sites. Participation would be limited to those who have been given two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine approved in Oman (those aged 18 and above) and with mandatory physical distancing and masks worn in the correct manner.
