Pay out to qualified OFWs affected by the magnitude 7.0 earthquake have started

Pay out to qualified Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by  the magnitude 7.0 earthquake kicked-off yesterday, 02 August 2022, at the Provincial Capitol.
OWWA CAR led by Regional Director Luzviminda Tumaliuan handed cash assistance to qualified OFWs under the OWWA’s Welfare Assistance Program (WAP).
WAP is established to help and provide cash assistance to OFWs and their families who are affected by natural disasters and/or manmade disasters.

The range of the cash assistance, according to Secretary Toots Ople, and [Labor and Employment Secretary] Benny Laguesma, is from P3,000 to P5,000.

Some 6,000 families of Overseas Filipino Workers affected by the 7.0-magnitude quake in the province of Abra have received cash aid from the government.

An initial pay-out is scheduled from August 2- 6, 2022 for the first batch of verified active members.

To expedite a client friendly pay-out for beneficiaries, the RWO_CAR has clustered adjacent and nearby municipalities with a pay-out center LGU (see attached document).

A list of verified Active members is posted (see names) where applicant/ beneficiaries have to comply for the documentary requirements and present themselves at the pay-out venue for release of financial assistance.

Initial schedule of pay out are the following:
Cluster 1 – August 2, 2022 8:30 am at Bangued Provincial Office (exact venue to be announced later)
Cluster 2 – August 3, 2022 8:30 am at Tayum Gymnasium
August 4, 5 and 6 – to be announced later on cluster schedule

The OWWA office is continuously collecting OFW names (name in the passport) for verification of membership status. During the pay-out, applicants are welcome to register and have the names verified by the OWWA staff. We thank our partners and stakeholders for their untiring support to gather names, assist OFWs and their families, working as one to help Abra raise from this disaster.
