The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has announced the total number of applicants for its flagship scholarship programs for Academic Year 2025–2026, marking another strong show of interest from the children and dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) seeking access to quality education.
In a recent update posted on its official Facebook page, OWWA revealed that more than 30,000 applications have been submitted under three major scholarship categories:
- Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP – Category 1): 8,600 applicants
- OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP – Category 1): 13,667 applicants
- OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP – Category 2): 8,522 applicants
These figures reflect the high demand for financial assistance among OFW families as they strive to send their children to college or university, especially amid the rising costs of education.

Overview of OWWA Scholarship Programs

This scholarship is designed for qualified dependents of OFWs whose monthly salary does not exceed US$600. The ODSP offers financial aid to help cover tuition fees and other school-related expenses.
