MOFA approval NOT required for residents entering Oman from October 1

The Sultanate of Oman is preparing for the resumption of international flights on October 1, 2020, in line with that, residents having valid visas do not require approval from the Foreign Ministry for their return to Oman, said Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs.

Based on the report of the Times of Oman, where Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign for Diplomatic Affairs, a member of the Supreme Committee, spoke exclusively to news agency regarding the decision of the committee allowing residents holding valid residency permit to return to the Sultanate from October 1, 2020.

A quoted statement says: “Those having valid residency are not required to obtain approval from the Foreign Ministry for their return to the Sultanate.”

This came after the decision of the Supreme Committee in-charge of dealing with COVID-19, confirmed that those with valid residency, must undergo a laboratory examination (PCR test) on their return to the Sultanate and adhere to the 14-day quarantine.
