Expat exit scheme extended until September 30, 2021

Ministry of Labour on Monday extended the exit scheme for expats with expired work permits to leave the country permanently until September 30.

In a statement, the Ministry of Labour urged expatriates to register before June 30. This is the seventh time, the Ministry is extending the exit scheme. The deadline was supposed to end on August 31.

Through the exit scheme, expatriate workers whose work permits have expired can leave the country without paying fines.

“The Ministry of Labour announces the extension of work with expat workers recruitment licenses expiring on until September 30, 2021,” the statement from Ministry of Labour added.
