The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office III (OWWA RWO 3) released Php 1,660,000.00 to 166 stranded or displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Central Luzon through the “DOLE-AKAP for OFWs” Financial Assistance on its first week.
OWWA officially started accepting “DOLE-AKAP for OFWs” on-line applications last April 13, 2020 while the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) releases the financial assistance to approved applications of the workers.
The program was designed to assist displaced land-based and sea-based workers, returning workers who were stranded in the Philippines and qualified undocumented OFWs who have experienced job displacement due to the COVID-19 pandemic with a one-time cash assistance amounting to Php 10,000.00.
An on-line application was created to cater to OFWs who are affected with the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine that started last March 17, 2020.
They only need to visit the website http://dole-akap.owwa.gov.ph, fill-out the on-line form and attach necessary documents needed.
OWWA and DOLE continuously evaluate and process all the received applications.
