Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,679 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.
In a statement issued online today [Wednesday, July 15], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 61,247, while 1,051 new recoveries bring the total number of patients in the country who are now virus-free to 39,038.
Of the new cases announced today, 1,313 are among Omani citizens and 366 are among non-Omani residents.
The MoH has also confirmed its highest number of COVID-19 fatalities to date, with 8 deaths today bringing total casualties in the Sultanate to 281, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 530, with 139 in ICU.
As of today, a total of 4,613 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the Sultanate in the last 24 hours.
