Coronavirus: Oman bans entry of non-Omanis

The Supreme Committee tasked with the mechanism to tackle with the developments of coronavirus held a meeting on Sunday, chaired by Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior in the presence of members of the Committee. The committee took the following five decisions:-

  1. To stop the entry of Non-Omanis to the Sultanate of Oman through all land and sea border posts and via air except GCC citizens.
  2. To apply quarantine to all arriving to the Sultanate through all land and sea border posts and via air including Omani citizens.
  3. Closure of public gardens and parks.
  4. To stop performing Juma ( Friday) prayers.
  5. All social gatherings such as weddings are banned.

The decisions shall take effect from Tuesday 17 March 2020.

The Committee urged all to comply with the control measures and instructions.
