Civil Aviation Authority and Oman Aiports issued an statement on airports reopening on October 1

The Civil Aviation Authority and Oman Airports have issued a statement regarding the opening of air traffic for international flights.

This is after the Supreme Committee on Monday issued a decision to reopen Oman’s airports following five months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Opening Air Traffic for International Flights

Within the framework of travel procedures issued by the supreme committee for dealing with COVID-19 and recommendations by the Civil Aviation Authority, we would like to inform our valued passengers that the air traffic for international flights will be resumed starting from Thursday, October, 1st, 2020.

We recommend that all passengers comply with the prevention measures announced by the Ministry of Health and the concerned authorities to prevent the spread of the virus, and to check the airline’s website for any flight information or updates before heading to the airport.

May God bless our beloved Oman and the rest of the world and keep everybody safe from all harm.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also issued a statement welcoming the decision. “The authority welcomes the decision of the Supreme Committee to resume scheduled flights within the framework of the level of “limited air transport” starting on October 1, 2020 and confirms the readiness of the civil aviation sector to carry out its tasks according to the approved operating plans.”

“The authority continues to follow up on the implementation of the protocols issued by it for aviation health and safety at the Sultanate’s airports and on board the aircrafts coming and departing from Oman, which started since June. The authority will issue relevant updates in coordination with the Ministry of Health in accordance with health and safety requirements and operational levels,” the statement added.
