Agencies are encouraged to safe keep the passports of all OFWs in Oman

The Philippine Overseas Labour Office (POLO), Office of the Labour Attache, Muscat, Oman have released an advisory with advisory number 4 series of 2018 that will take effect on March 27, 2018 states that:

“Please be informed that numerous cases of missing passports of our overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) especially with our domestic workers (DWs) have been reported in our office. In line with this, Foreign Recruitment Agencies (FRAs) are encouraged to safe keep the passports of all OFWs deployed under their respective agencies.

Newly arrived OFWs may handover / deposit the said passports to their respective agency. The said agency shall keep the said passport secured until such time that the OFW will have the need to use or renew the said passport. The safekeeping should be properly documented.

Further, FRAs are requested to submit a monthly report on the list of OFWs/passports kept by their office.

This advisory will take effect March 27, 2018.

Please be guided accordingly.”
